Ian Price

I take inspiration from my immediate environment often painting outdoors before developing larger or more abstracted works in the studio. Originally from rural Carmarthenshire, I currently paint the Severn Estuary from my home in Portishead. I often paint in oils using a limited palette to capture the beauty within this often bleak landscape. Complementary to this I enjoy the representational challenge of portraiture. I have successfully completed a number of commissions and have exhibited at the Holburne Portrait Prize in Bath. I have shown landscapes and portraits in many galleries and venues in and around Bristol and Bath including the RWA Autumn Exhibition and the Bath Society of Artists. I’ve also exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London with the Royal Institute of Oil painters and ING Discerning Eye exhibitions.
