Tomasin Cuthbert

Tomasin Cuthbert MA (Hons) is an Artist, Illustrator and Theatre maker. As Artistic Director of Soap Soup Theatre, a visual theatre company making innovative theatre for children and their families, she has developed a bold, unique visual language, which she has deepened through her illustration practice.
Awarded 14 grants from the Arts Council in the last decade, Tomasin is dedicated to creating startling work that invites her audience to co-create the worlds her stories inhabit. In the last 12 months, Tomasin has been exploring how Augmented Reality can bring Theatrical and Creative experiences to a wider audience, and is currently working on a picture book that exists on a page, a stage and in the digital realm through AR.
Tomasin has trained at Falmouth University, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and Nottingham Trent University. She is a Resident Artist of The Studio, Bath, and Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol, UK, a creative technologies collaboration with Watershed, University of the West of England and University of Bristol.

David Cuthbert

David is a member of the Bath Society of Artists and exhibits with them annually.
Currently David works in series, mostly in watercolour and/or pen and ink. He has recently completed 14 paintings on the theme of ‘The Rite of Spring’ after the ballet by Stravinsky.
He has work in private collections in the UK, USA, Australia, Japan, Singapore, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
With his wife Ros he teaches drawing and painting at The Art Shed, Winscombe. He has always included art history in his teaching practice and from about fifteen years ago began giving talks and lectures on art at The Art Shed, Winscombe and at residential colleges, at the Bath Royal Scientific & Literary Institute, the Friends of Swindon Museum & Art Gallery and the Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives at the M-Shed. Since the Covid-19 pandemic he has been running classes and talks online via Zoom.

Ros Cuthbert
Painting/Drawing
Ros Cuthbert MA (RCA), RWA is a professional artist and Royal West of England Academician who has lived in Winscombe since 1981. She studied Painting at the Central School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London.
Ros has won several art prizes including the Figurative Art Prize at the RCA, 2nd prize at the National Portrait Gallery’s Portrait Competition and 1st prize at the RWA Open. She has exhibited in many one-person and group shows in the UK and beyond, and has work in private collections worldwide. Work in public collections includes the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Poetry Library, the Royal College of Art, and Madame Tussauds London.
Her recent magical and mysterious watercolours are inspired by buildings, spaces, streets and views close to home, often seen at dawn or dusk.
Commissions are welcomed.
Winscombe Farm Studio is home to herself and her artist husband David, and also, since summer 2022, her daughter and family. Three family members will be showing work during NSAW 2023 in their house and studio.
