A recent graduate from North Somerset, I spend my quiet moments between professional and personal time creating – frequently with acrylic, among other mediums. Training formally in Social Anthropology and Sustainability (BA, MSc) after studying art in school, my focus within both painting and everyday photography often coincides with an interest in people and a sense of place, using visual media to explore moments and interactions.
Currently, I am enjoying exploring landscapes and atmospheres, with particular attention to how light plays with objects, surfaces, and other presences. At time of writing, I have most recently exhibited as part of Somerset Aspects at ART GALLERY & STUDIO by Aga Kubish.

With a passion for print and pattern that started while studying my graphic design degree, I hand print contemporary multi layered lino prints from my North Somerset studio.
I have developed a graphic printing style that is strongly influenced by local landscapes, travel and the details of nature, aiming to brighten up the world with a little bit of colour.
Every design is meticulously hand carved, inked and printed for each colour individually, building up the layers to create the original print.

I am a professional designer/maker creating jewellery and artworks. My work is a response to personal joys in life, from childhood memories to textured leaves and a million things between. Designs are developed from initial ideas, through drawings and experiments to choosing the most effective materials and processes for a successfully completed piece of work, whether it is a jewellery item, a textile piece or a collage.
Brand new works for NSA 2025 will include jewellery and artworks incorporating stitching and textiles, inspired by a wealth of techniques and influences.

I make geometric wooden jewellery, using sustainably sourced walnut wood. My work is influenced by my love of clean, crisp design and simple shapes. I enjoy using pops of cheerful colour to contrast with the wood. The wooden pieces I use to make my jewellery are laser cut by a Bristol company who translate my hand drawn sketches into real life wooden shapes. I then sand, paint, varnish and assemble my jewellery by hand in my garden studio in Portishead. I also design greetings cards for all occasions. I make the original art work as paper collages, incorporating my own pattern designs, which are then digitally printed on to eco-friendly card.

I am a professional designer-maker; applied artist, researcher, lecturer whatever you want to call me - I stitch stuff by hand: fabric, paper, metal, vitreous enamel. I am fascinated and stimulated by materials and colour. Hand stitching is slow work, whatever the material, giving time for reflection and the development of ideas. I am fascinated by trying to get beneath the surface appearance of things, often using symbols and emblems to hint at what lies beneath the seemingly innocent and beautiful.
I will exhibit a series of stitched flowers and sea-scapes that have been inspired by my immediate surroundings; and Giclee prints of these works for sale.
Also a Studio Sale of various fabrics with lengths of cotton prints by the Kaffe Fasset Collective.

Claire is a successful educator within the glass field and a regular masterclass teacher at Warm Glass UK and West Dean College. She has also taught extensively across Europe, most recently in the USA at Pittsburgh Glass Center.
Her glass art has been selected for prestigious exhibitions at London Glassblowing Gallery, The National Glass Centre, the British Glass Biennale and GAS, Detroit.
Inspired by the local coastline, Claire’s work captures remembered sensations and experiences within the landscape. Drawing, painting and photography are integral to her practice - making becomes a cathartic and meditative process enabling the unconscious mind to flow.

I began my glass journey over 15 years ago when I took a lampworking class at a glass studio in Bath and fell in love with lampworking straight away. Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch is primarily used to melt glass. The glass I use comes in rod form and many different colours. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing, stretching, and shaping many layers with tools and hand movements on a steel rod to form a bead. They are then slowly cooled in a digitally controlled kiln, known as annealing. Annealing of glass is an important process of slowly cooling hot glass objects after they have been formed, to relieve residual internal stresses introduced during making of the bead. These one-of-a-kind glass beads I make are then used in making my bespoke jewellery. I mainly use sterling silver findings in my jewellery but also gold vermeil and different coloured copper wire and findings. I will also make European style big hole beads, Christmas ornaments and other home decorations.
