  • Trish Williams | North Somerset Arts

Trish Williams Painting/Drawing Trish Williams Painting/Drawing Trish Williams Painting/Drawing 1/1 My art is fairly diverse as I’m continually inspired by different threads/directions, which could mean I’m working on an oil portrait one week or a collage the next. Collages are created using hand-painted papers and acrylics. Each collage begins with many sketches, a general composition and plan but usually evolves into something completely different. Each painting is a delightful journey of unexpected outcomes. Like many artists, the natural world is my biggest source of inspiration and I’m particularly drawn to painting birds and other wildlife. • Joanna Sellam | North Somerset Arts

Joanna Sellam Painting/Drawing Joanna Sellam Painting/Drawing Joanna Sellam Painting/Drawing 1/1 I draw and paint in watercolours, acrylics and oils. I also make prints and Touch Drawings. I like to immerse myself in the landscape so that I feel part of it and feel closer to the place. Landscapes can resonate with our inner world and reveal some of the mystery of existence to us. I studied Fine Art at Central St Martins and Slade. I participated in Rose Frain's Womens Art Weeks, where I developed a more intuitive, imaginative approach to art making. During an NHS career in Art Therapy I continued to make images and attended courses at printmaking studios and at The Essential School of Painting. I studied Touch Drawing with Deborah Koff-Chapin in Findhorn, Seattle and online. I now offer Touch Drawing workshops and welcome commissions to paint portraits of people in their own garden or favourite parkland. • Andrew Hardwick | North Somerset Arts

Andrew Hardwick Mixed Media Andrew Hardwick Mixed Media Andrew Hardwick Mixed Media 1/1 Andrew Hardwick paints places that are lost or go unnoticed. The unspectacular, the ordinary often waste lands about to be built on. His paintings are filled with these edgeland landscapes, forgotten ruins, remote reservoirs on moorland even the occasional Amazon warehouse The work follows the romantic painting tradition and can be big sometimes over four metres long-sunsets, rain, storms also fill his textured constructions. Andrew also refers to his work as constructions, because typically they use found materials, soils on board, plastics, canvas and roofing materials. As well as of course paint, often decorators gloss. Some of his images evoke the more rural landscape that he remembers from his family farm. Now existing only in his memory or as he says ghost landscapes. The work challenges our complicated relationship with the land.
