  • Trish Williams | North Somerset Arts

Trish Williams Painting/Drawing Trish Williams Painting/Drawing Trish Williams Painting/Drawing 1/1 My art is fairly diverse as I’m continually inspired by different threads/directions, which could mean I’m working on an oil portrait one week or a collage the next. Collages are created using hand-painted papers and acrylics. Each collage begins with many sketches, a general composition and plan but usually evolves into something completely different. Each painting is a delightful journey of unexpected outcomes. Like many artists, the natural world is my biggest source of inspiration and I’m particularly drawn to painting birds and other wildlife. • Janet Haigh | North Somerset Arts

Janet Haigh Textile Art Janet Haigh Textile Art Janet Haigh Textile Art 1/1 I am a professional designer-maker; applied artist, researcher, lecturer whatever you want to call me - I stitch stuff by hand: fabric, paper, metal, vitreous enamel. I am fascinated and stimulated by materials and colour. Hand stitching is slow work, whatever the material, giving time for reflection and the development of ideas. I am fascinated by trying to get beneath the surface appearance of things, often using symbols and emblems to hint at what lies beneath the seemingly innocent and beautiful. I will exhibit a series of stitched flowers and sea-scapes that have been inspired by my immediate surroundings; and Giclee prints of these works for sale. Also a Studio Sale of various fabrics with lengths of cotton prints by the Kaffe Fasset Collective. • Suzy Hannabuss | North Somerset Arts

Suzy Hannabuss Glass Suzy Hannabuss Glass Suzy Hannabuss Glass 1/1 I began my glass journey over 15 years ago when I took a lampworking class at a glass studio in Bath and fell in love with lampworking straight away. Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch is primarily used to melt glass. The glass I use comes in rod form and many different colours. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing, stretching, and shaping many layers with tools and hand movements on a steel rod to form a bead. They are then slowly cooled in a digitally controlled kiln, known as annealing. Annealing of glass is an important process of slowly cooling hot glass objects after they have been formed, to relieve residual internal stresses introduced during making of the bead. These one-of-a-kind glass beads I make are then used in making my bespoke jewellery. I mainly use sterling silver findings in my jewellery but also gold vermeil and different coloured copper wire and findings. I will also make European style big hole beads, Christmas ornaments and other home decorations. Angela Uren Painting/Drawing Angela Uren Painting/Drawing Angela Uren Painting/Drawing 1/1 Angela Uren My paintings are in direct response to continual change, in the landscape, the seasons, my surroundings and connections, from Somerset to Cornwall. Applying oil paint onto canvas with knives and fingers helps me to connect to and interpret the memory of that time and place. To respond to the feeling rather than visual representation of the landscape. This is both very personal and individual.
