- Tim Stephens | North Somerset Arts
Tim Stephens Illustration Tim Stephens Illustration Tim Stephens Illustration 1/1 Inspiration comes in many forms but I have always been drawn to people, places and nature. Sometimes I combine all three! I draw influence from varied sources, as inspiration truly is all around us, but my current art style is shaped by environments and contours, subculture, expression and style, (and splash of humour can also be found in some of my pieces)! Alongside the artwork I produce for general release I also do lots of private commissions and am often working variety of commercial illustration projects. There are also fellow creatives that I find extremely inspirational and these include M.C. Escher, William Hogarth, Brian Bolland, Eric Fischl, Mode2, Charles Griffin, Rodney Matthews and Barney Farmer - to name but a few of many more! My work is hand drawn. I sometimes colour with ink and sometimes I scan my drawings and colour them in Photoshop using a digital drawing pad and pen. - Karen Edwards | North Somerset Arts
Karen Edwards Ceramics Karen Edwards Ceramics Karen Edwards Ceramics 1/1 Professional potter since 2005, making distinctive handbuilt frostproof sculptured, planters and decorative items for gardens and interiors. Karen's ceramics combine her interests in texture, landscape and plants, from tiny pebbles to tall abstract forms. The colour palette is deliberately earthy and natural, to complement plants rather than compete with them. Clay surfaces are carved, inlaid, scraped, polished or impressed during the making stage to give interesting textures bich are then enhanced with oxide washes, slips (liquid clay) and glazes. Karen regularly exhibits her unique work in prestigious sculpture garden events and is happy to discuss commission or personalisation ideas. Her large studio at Barley Wood Walled Garden, Wrington, always has a display of finished pieces for sale and is open throughout the year by appointment.
