Wendy Hope Mixed Media Wendy Hope Mixed Media Wendy Hope Mixed Media 1/1 Wendy Hope spent her first career bringing creativity to schools, as a teacher and head teacher. She was awarded the Artsmark Gold Award by the Arts Council before moving on to develop her work as an artist and writer. As well as drawing, painting and textiles, Wendy creates large scale sculptures using glass from Murano and neon gas - not LEDs. Inspired by her sketches of dancers and by themes such as Memories and Time, the glass is handcrafted over hot flames to her design. Infusing the glass with gases produces stunning coloured lights which Wendy mounts onto a background of steel or natural wood. Artefacts are often added to enhance the theme and these can be personal to the client to ensure every artwork is original. These artworks are perfect for large walls and staircases and bring a Wow! to homes and businesses. HopeNeon artworks were exhibited in the OXO Tower Wharf on London’s South Bank in 2023. Sarah Aumayer Glass Sarah Aumayer Glass Sarah Aumayer Glass 1/1 Sarah runs her small fused glass business “Mydsomer Studio” from her home studio in North Somerset. She’s been working with fusing glass for around 20 years specialising in contemporary designs that are often brightly coloured. Items for the home and garden include plates, candle holders, hanging panels, free-standing curves and framed pictures. Sarah also makes a range of very popular jewellery. She runs 2 hour workshops locally for beginners or for those who already have some experience with glass fusing. Details are on her website. Val Newman Painting/Drawing Val Newman Painting/Drawing Val Newman Painting/Drawing 1/1 I have loved painting and drawing all my life. My main focus has been nature, depicted in various media. I have a strong sense of place, often reflecting the history in my work (particularly my collages), and am also fascinated by the play of light and flickering shadows, which can change the mood of a scene in seconds. I am currently working on a series of paintings after a visit to Kew Gardens, where the many layers of reflections in the lily ponds in the Princess of Wales Conservatory intrigued me. 2014 HND in Painting Open College of the Arts. 2018 First Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Art and Professional Studies, Bath Spa University 2021 – 2023 Tutor for Seasons Art 2010 to Present.
